I hated Waking life–fuckin psudo-exestential horseshit. and the rotascoping made me more ill than the story or lack there of. So when I saw the cut scenes in Mirror’s Edge were of a similar style, i wasnt sure if it worked.
My first reaction was: They spent ages making a highly detailed city, and then rotascope the fuckin cutscenes–althou its not realy rota scoping, its probably just a clever flash annimation…
A few cut scenes later and the style is growing on me. this tactic of making games more like television (see my post on Siren Blood Curse) is definatly a good step. A step to interactive TV perhaps?
